San Francisco has amazing public spaces, and many of them are stewarded by dedicated community groups.
Their efforts span the city’s diverse public spaces — from large parks and playgrounds, to small parklets and stairways, to cross‑town trails for hikers and bikers, to community arts programs, to commercial corridor revitalization, and much more. Most of these groups are powered by volunteers who believe in San Francisco and want to support their neighborhoods. Together, we have spent countless hours creating change from the ground up. Some city amenities and benefits exist only because of community partners — through the fundraising, organizing, and volunteer work that create and sustain these spaces.
The SF Public Space Collective is a coalition of these groups, working together to make San Francisco a better place for everyone.
